This year marks a truly special milestone for us at LaserMach—20 years of working with the Walt Disney Theme Parks. What began with a spark of imagination and a laser-cut vision of Boba Fett has grown into two decades of creative collaboration, unforgettable projects, and shared magic.
It All Started with Boba Fett
Our journey began with one of the galaxy’s most iconic bounty hunters. The very first piece we created for Disney was a laser sculpture of Boba Fett, a project that ignited our relationship with one of the most beloved brands in the world. It wasn’t long before our laser artistry became a fixture in the parks.
The Laser Cel Legacy
Our partnership hit its peak with the introduction of Laser Cels—intricately printed animation art on mylar, beautifully matted and ready for display. These collectible pieces quickly captured the hearts of Disney fans and art collectors alike. At one point, we proudly had over 30 different SKUs of Laser Cels in Disney parks, celebrating characters and stories across the Disney and Pixar universes.
Mickey in Metal
As our work evolved, so did the mediums. In later years, we returned to our Disney roots with a series of Mickey Mouse stainless steel laser sculptures. These premium, polished pieces weren’t just hits in the U.S. parks—they were also embraced by international parks and the Disney Store online, bringing a touch of magic to fans around the world.

From Stainless Steel to Stunning Acrylic: The Evolution of Laser Sculptures at LaserMach
In the spring of 1992, Matt sat at his desk and sketched out a design that would change the course of LaserMach’s history. That design became our very first Laser Sculpture: a striking piece inspired by The Tick—an iconic '90s comic that would later become a cartoon and a Prime Video live-action show. The sculpture consisted of interictally laser cut and laser etched steel that would be welded together, powder coated and then layered. At the time, we had no idea that this simple yet bold piece would mark the beginning of a 30-year journey in the world of licensed Laser Sculptures.
Since then, LaserMach has had the incredible opportunity to create Laser Sculptures for some of the most beloved intellectual properties in pop culture. Our portfolio now proudly includes collaborations with Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Warner Brothers, Pokémon, Star Wars, and Disney! These sculptures became a staple for collectors and fans alike, featuring hard metal edges and monochrome designs that suited the aesthetic of the time.
However, as technology, design trends, and customer preferences evolved, so too did our approach to Laser Sculptures. Gone are the hard, cold metal edges and uniform colors. In their place, we’ve introduced eco-friendly, FSC-certified wood bases and vibrant, multi-layered acrylic designs that showcase full-color art. These new sculptures are more than just collectible pieces—they’re immersive visual experiences.
Our partners and customers have embraced this transformation, and we couldn’t be more excited to showcase our latest creations. The first of our new wave of Laser Sculptures will debut in just a few weeks at Star Wars Celebration 2025.
